Recently, at a media communication event for Tesla, Tesla's global vice president, Tao Lin, said that the company's energy storage superfactory will be completed as planned in 2025, which will be Tesla's first energy storage superfactory outside of the United States. Meanwhile, the Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory will continue to operate at its current capacity and the company has great confidence in the Chinese market.

In addition, regarding the expansion of Tesla's supercharging stations and consumer complaints about high prices, Tao Lin said that Tesla's supercharging station expansion work has always been ongoing in mainland China, and prices are market-driven and will be adjusted to meet market demand. In May, Tesla's first overseas energy storage superfactory project - the Shanghai Energy Storage Superfactory - began construction, located adjacent to the existing Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory.

The project has a total investment of approximately 1.45 billion yuan, and the Shanghai Energy Storage Superfactory will mainly produce large commercial energy storage batteries called Megapack. These batteries support grid operators and utility companies to store and distribute renewable energy more efficiently. Tesla says that each Megapack battery can store more than 3MWh of energy, enough to power 3,600 households for an hour. The factory is expected to have an annual energy production capacity of 40GWh, equivalent to producing 10,000 Megapack batteries per year.
