The US-spec Tiguan made its debut, which is said to be closely related to the all-new TAYRON L in China. The vehicle will be produced at the Volkswagen plant in Mexico and is expected to start deliveries in the summer of next year.

The US-spec Tiguan is also based on the MQB Evo platform, which supports the installation of hybrid systems, although the new car only has a gasoline engine. However, Volkswagen has hinted that a plug-in hybrid version will be launched at some point in the future, which makes China more eager, considering the technology is the same. Like the TAYRON L in China, the car is a five-seat SUV.
The US-spec Tiguan has very little difference from the TAYRON L in China, with a pure black exterior and self-illuminating VW logos on the front and rear. The front and rear lights are also designed as a continuous strip.

Compared with the Chinese model, the US-spec Tiguan has a more American luxury atmosphere, such as large areas of brown leather upholstery, wood grain trim, and a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch central touchscreen. It also has a heads-up display, but it does not have a screen for the passenger seat like the Chinese model.

The US-spec Tiguan is equipped with a 2.0T engine, with a maximum power of 204 horsepower (150kW), which is close to the top-of-the-line TAYRON L R-line version in China. It is paired with an 8AT transmission and has four-wheel drive. Considering the market factors in the US, the car also has towing capabilities. In addition, the car will also be equipped with Level 2 driving assistance functions.
