On December 2, 2024, the 2024 Shanghai International Auto Parts, Repair and Maintenance Equipment, Diagnostic Equipment and Service Supplies Exhibition (Automechanika Shanghai) was inaugurated at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). This year's exhibition witnessed an unprecedented success, boasting a total exhibition area of 350,000 square meters and the participation of 6,763 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions around the world, an increase of 20% compared to the previous session. There were 17 overseas country and region exhibition groups and 81 captivating concurrent activities during the exhibition, setting new records in both the number of exhibitors and the scale of concurrent activities.
According to the introduction, this year's exhibition has more than 2,000 enterprises involved in new energy products, covering all product segments and zones of the show. The newly upgraded new energy and intelligent networking section has a display area of nearly 30,000 square meters, bringing together nearly 500 exhibitors, showcasing a comprehensive range of electric powertrain systems and components, fuel cells, charging and energy replacement, autonomous driving, intelligent undercarriages and cabins, and new energy vehicle thermal management and new materials.
At the same time, the exhibition has identified more than 720 specialized, special and small giant enterprises, from various links in the industrial chain, involving automotive manufacturing and assembly technology, testing and maintenance, automotive electronics and other fields.
In addition, the exhibition has set up several themed exhibition areas specifically focused on the frontiers of digitalization and sustainable development. Among them, the Digital Solutions/Industrial Services Exhibition Area has gathered many industry leading enterprises, committed to promoting the deep integration and widespread application of big data, internet technology and artificial intelligence in manufacturing, distribution systems and consumer markets. During the exhibition, 81 concurrent activities will be held, with a record-breaking number and scale, covering the fields of complete vehicles, spare parts, maintenance and repair, intelligent networking, and new energy vehicles.
Recently, the annual output of new energy vehicles exceeded 10 million for the first time, and intelligent and new energy technologies have fundamentally changed the automotive industry. This change naturally affects the entire industrial chain and supply chain.
