On August 22, we learned from the Tianyancha App that Seres Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. has changed its business name to Chongqing Aito Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. The company was established in March 2019 and is legally represented by Liu Wei. It has a registered capital of 50 million yuan and is wholly owned by Chongqing JinKang Power New Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Seres. The company's external investment information shows that it has established sales and service companies in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Tianjin, Jiangsu and other places. Recently, Seres announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Seres Automobile Co., Ltd. plans to acquire the 919 registered or pending trademarks of the AITO and other series of words and graphics held by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and its related parties, with a total purchase price of 2.5 billion yuan.
According to previous information, Seres and Huawei signed a further deepening cooperation agreement on joint business in early July, in which both parties will fully leverage their joint business advantages. Under the premise of keeping the original cooperation framework unchanged, Seres and Huawei will fully utilize their respective resource and inherent advantages to focus on the AITO question brand under the Seres automobile brand. Both parties will jointly design and market, providing users with high-end smart electric vehicles and intelligent travel solutions, and achieving commercial success together. This is also the second time that Seres and Huawei have signed a related agreement after signing a deepening cooperation agreement in February 2023, marking the determination of both parties to develop joint business models and deeply cultivate the AITO question brand. In addition, the announcement issued by Seres on July 2 shows that Seres plans to acquire all types of "question" and other related trademark rights and application rights, as well as related appearance design patents held by Huawei. The purchase price is a total of 2.5 billion yuan. This commodity and brand asset transfer does not affect the existing cooperation business between the two parties and further ensures the long-term development of AITO question. It also reflects the initial intention of both parties to focus on joint business and AITO question products by putting users first.
Since Seres established a cross-industry business cooperation with Huawei in 2021, the two sides have fully leveraged their respective advantages to open up a new mode of cooperation between the real economy and the digital economy and enter the market. Meanwhile, Seres' vehicle sales reached 42,176 units in July, up 508.25% year-on-year; its total sales for the first seven months of this year reached 243,125 units, up 369.95% year-on-year. On July 29, the 40th millionth AITO Question vehicle was officially rolled off the production line at the Seres Automobile Super Factory in Chongqing. Since its establishment in December 2021, the AITO Question brand has achieved a total of 4 million vehicles in just 2 years and a half. Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solution BU Chairman Yu Chengdong said that the Question is expected to soon deliver its 1 millionth vehicle.
