In terms of appearance, the Dongfeng Forthing Xinghai V9 will offer two front face designs, namely the Qingyun Ladder series and the Chinese Knot series. Additionally, the top-tier models are equipped with L2+ level intelligent assisted driving system which includes features like high-speed NOA function, 50m reverse tracking and smart lane change.

Regarding the seating arrangement, the Dongfeng Forthing Xinghai V9 utilizes a configuration of 2+2+3 seats. The driver's seat offers a ten-way electric adjustment feature along with seat memory functionality, heated/ventilated seats, as well as an eight-point massage function that includes five pre-set modes. On the other hand, the passenger's side provides an eight-way electric adjustment option. In terms of range, the new car offers two configurations: pure electric range of 100 km and 200 km (CLTC cycle), corresponding to comprehensive ranges of 1200 km and 1300 km respectively. According to official statements, its comprehensive fuel consumption under CLTC standard is rated at 5.27 L/100km, with an acceleration time from 0-100 km/h in just8.8 seconds. Additionally, it is also equipped with a function for external discharge at3.3 kW capacity.

In the domestic market, it is extremely rare to find a mid-sized MPV priced below 200,000 yuan. Among them, the GAC Trumpchi E8 (starting at 209,800 yuan) is already considered quite close. Both models are plug-in hybrid vehicles and in comparison, the Star Sea V9 has certain advantages in terms of body size, range performance, and configuration which highlight its cost-effectiveness. Additionally, there is also the Hyundai Kustoo (starting at 169,800 yuan), a foreign brand product with excellent cost-performance. However, when compared to the product strength of the Star Sea V9, it still falls short.

Although the MPV market in China has been very hot in recent years, the vast majority of products are mainly aimed at the mid-to-high-end market to enhance brand image. With the appearance of Dongfeng Forthing Xinghai V9, there is finally a product that more ordinary families can afford.
