BYD Han Plug-in hybrid Sedan

The BYD Han Plug-in hybrid Sedan series models, positioned as the flagship vehicles under the BYD brand, have consistently garnered significant attention. The sales performance of both the Han EV and Han DM has been remarkable, with monthly sales consistently surpassing 10,000 units. Today, I would like to discuss the upcoming 2023 Han EV which will introduce five new models.

The BYD Han Plug-in hybrid Sedan has introduced a new body color option called "glacier blue". While the overall appearance remains largely unchanged, this addition of a fresh body color imparts a more youthful aesthetic to the Han EV. This is particularly significant considering that young consumers now constitute the primary demographic for car purchases. This brings to mind XPeng P7's captivating hues such as "Interstellar Green" and "Super Flash Green", which have proven to be highly appealing to young individuals while also eliminating the need for immediate vehicle color customization.

The front facade of the Dragon Face is undoubtedly recognizable to all. In my opinion, this same design style exhibits a more advanced aesthetic when applied to the BYD Han Electric Car. Notably, there are distinct convex shapes on either side of the cover, while the sunken middle section seamlessly integrates with a broader silver trim, resulting in an impression of lowered and wide-bodied visual impact. Moreover, the front bumper features extensive black decorative elements, complemented by C-shaped air intake channels on both sides that further enhance its sporty ambiance.
 

The BYD Han Electric Car is positioned as a medium to large sedan, measuring 4995x1910x1495mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2920mm. Its side lines feature a more radical style, while the rear triangular window incorporates silver decorative strips to create a diffuser shape. The Y-shaped two-color wheels add a sporty touch and are paired with Michelin PS4 series tires. When illuminated, the taillights showcase Chinese knot elements that greatly enhance brand recognition. The lower surround shape complements the front bumper design, while the prominent 3.9S silver logo emphasizes its impressive acceleration performance.

The BYD Han Electric Car's interior features a vibrant "golden scale orange" color, exuding a youthful and sporty vibe. It retains its original styling without any extravagant lines. Standard across all series is the spacious 15.6-inch multimedia screen, offering ample display area. This screen supports various functionalities such as Internet of Vehicles, OTA remote upgrade, Huawei Hicar mobile phone interconnection, etc. Additionally, it can be rotated and adjusted to vertical screen mode for long-distance journeys, providing comprehensive navigation map information without obstructing the driver's line of sight during daily use in horizontal screen mode.

Compared to luxury mid-to-large sedans of the same level, although the Han EV has a shorter length and wheelbase, its superior space optimization enables it to maintain a larger rear passenger area. The front row's main and auxiliary seats feature a concave design, providing ample legroom for a 178cm tall occupant in the back seat with more than two fists' worth of space. However, the headspace performance may vary depending on individual preferences. Additionally, the flat middle floor is an advantage commonly found in new energy vehicles. With a width exceeding 1.9 meters, this vehicle offers generous horizontal space.

In terms of battery life, the BYD Han Electric Car offers a range of options including 506km, 605km, 610km, and 715km. Let's take the example of the flagship model, the 2023 Champion Edition with a range of 610KM and four-wheel drive. It is equipped with dual motors at the front and rear, delivering a total power output of 380kW (517Ps) and peak torque of 700N m. The acceleration time from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour is an impressive 3.9 seconds. With a battery capacity of 85.4kWh, it provides a pure electric cruising range according to CLTC standards up to 610km.

The BYD Han Electric Car now features enhanced exterior and interior color options, resulting in a more dynamic and youthful visual impact. Simultaneously, the price threshold of the 2023 Han EV has been lowered. Although there has been a slight reduction in motor power and cruising range, the overall performance remains capable of meeting daily usage requirements.
