On February 20, two compact SUVs under the Changan brand - Changan X5 PLUS and Changan X7 PLUS - officially went on sale. Of the two, Changan X5 PLUS offers 5 models, while Changan X7 PLUS offers 7 models.

In terms of appearance, Changan X5 PLUS was designed using a design language that we are very familiar with. The overall front end design is sharp and angular, with sharp lines that exude a strong sense of attack. Specifically, the new car's front grille features a grid-like decoration similar to that of a point array. The design elements of the rear are in harmony with those of the front. The car has a top-mounted brake light in the shape of a navigational light on the roof, as well as a dual-blade style tail light, which looks very individualistic. The rear bumper's lines are similar to those of the front bumper, and the overall design has a strong sporty feel. In terms of size, the new car's length, width and height are 4540mm, 1860mm and 1620mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2715mm.

In terms of interior design, the Changan X5 PLUS features a wrap-around three-link screen, which can realize three-screen interaction between the central control screen, instrument screen, and driving assistance screen, making navigation seamless. The driving assistance screen can display blind spot assistance, ensuring driving safety. At the same time, the new car is equipped with a one-piece sports seat, which enhances the sporty atmosphere in the cabin.

In terms of power, the Changan X5 PLUS will continue to be equipped with the Bluecore New Generation NE1.5T high-pressure direct injection engine, which can output a maximum power of 138 kilowatts and a peak torque of 300N·m. The transmission system is matched with the Bluecore 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

In terms of appearance, compared with the X5 PLUS, the Changan X7 PLUS adopts a more elegant and refined design language. For example, the test car integrates a large number of silver design elements into the front grille, which greatly enhances the sense of quality. At the same time, the overall contour of the car head also looks more visually powerful. In addition, the car will be available in 5-seat version/7-seat version for choice.

The Changan X7 PLUS creates a sense of fashion on the side of the car through the black trim on the window edges and the five-spoke wheels. However, the overall atmosphere is still calm and stable. The rear design is solid and full, with a through LED taillight that has a good lighting effect. The rear bumper is integrated with a dual-exhaust decoration, which looks quite atmospheric. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4745mm, 1870mm and 1720mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2786mm. At the same time, the new car can also be equipped with 19-inch large-size wheels to enhance the car's presence.

In terms of interior design, the Changan X7 PLUS features a wrap-around design with a large area of soft-molded plastic used for the dashboard and steering wheel. The multi-function buttons on the sides of the steering wheel are for cruise control and multimedia control. In terms of details, the car's center console and seats are equipped with sewing craftsmanship, which can enhance the overall sense of refinement. In addition, the car is equipped with a variety of materials such as wood grain trim and silver trim, which creates a more homey atmosphere in the car.

In terms of the power system, the Changan X7 PLUS is equipped with the Bluecore New Generation NE 1.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which comes in high and low power versions, with maximum power of 125 kW and 138 kW, and maximum torque of 260 Nm and 300 Nm respectively. The transmission system will be equipped with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

Although there is a "price war" in various submarkets, in fact, there are not many models in the compact SUV market that can keep the starting price below 100,000 yuan, and most of them are pure home-use products. However, Changan X5 PLUS and Changan X7 PLUS not only have practical attributes but also have stronger personalized attributes, which is quite valuable in the same level market. Overall, the Hafei H6, Jetta VS5, and Journey Saint are all in similar price ranges, and can be considered as competitors of Changan X5 PLUS and Changan X7 PLUS.
